Department of women’s health Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Physiotherapy organised World Continence week.
World Continence Week is a global initiative dedicated to promoting awareness of continence care, encouraging early identification of pelvic floor dysfunction, and enhancing access to evidence-based rehabilitation services. In alignment with this mission, Department of Women’s Health Physiotherapy, Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Physiotherapy, in observance of World Continence Week 2026 conducted a series of academic, clinical, and community outreach activities from 12th to 25th June 2026.The event commenced with an Industrial Pelvic Health Screening and Awareness Programme conducted at Rabbya Leather Private Limited, Poonamallee, on 12th June 2026. A total of 72 employees underwent screening and individualized guidance. In addition, more than 1000 female workers were sensitized to the importance of early detection and prevention strategies related to continence and women;s health.
A Pelvic Health Screening Camp was organized at G Block, Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, on 18th June 2026 in collaboration with the Departments of Urology and Obstetrics & Gynaecology, benefiting 51 participants.
A Rural Pelvic Health Screening Camp was conducted at the Rural Health Training Centre, Vayalanallur, on 19th June 2026, benefiting 52 participants.
Collectively, these outreach initiatives enabled the department to directly screen and counsel 175 individuals while extending awareness messages to more than 1000 women through workplace health promotion activities.
