In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land)—the Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Physiotherapy, SRIHER, organized an In-Campus Cycle Rally on 3 June 2026 to commemorate World Bicycle Day.
The rally aimed to raise awareness about the bicycle’s role as a simple, affordable, clean, and sustainable mode of transportation that promotes both personal health and environmental stewardship. Participants carried placards conveying messages on sustainable mobility, healthy living, and environmental conservation, emphasizing the importance of adopting eco-friendly practices in everyday life.
The event was formally flagged off by Dr. Leena Dennis Joseph, Dean of Students, SRIHER. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 120 students, faculty members, and staff, reflecting the institution’s commitment to promoting health, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.
As part of the celebrations, a Slow Cycling Competition was organized for students to encourage participation and foster a spirit of healthy competition. A total of 20 students actively participated in the event.
